Who is WADA and what do they do?

The World Anti-Doping Agency’s mission is to lead a collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 as an international independent agency composed and funded equally by the sport movement and governments of the world. Its key activities include scientific research, education, development of anti-doping capacities, and monitoring of the World Anti-Doping Code (Code) – the document harmonizing anti-doping policies in all sports and all countries.

Who does the testing for 0% THC?

Adact Medical Ltd (Adact) is a UK based company that specializes in medical product regulation as part of the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD). They have more than 20 years of experience in the field and is regarded as world leader in TPD analysis.

What is the name of the testing unit?

High-performance liquid chromatography or high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) Machine

What are their credentials?

ISO 17025 CBD Testing

How does the process work?

Each CBD batch is received by the testing lab as an anonymous sample. The lab technicians test more than one extract from each sample and log the individual concentrations of the cannabinoid profile. Test results are processed and matched to the appropriate CBD batch sample. Test certificates are produced and held on a CFR 21 FDA Compliant Database (Tamper proof).

What is THC?

THC is the main psychoactive component of the cannabis plant. In other words, THC is the primary agent responsible for creating the ‘high’ associated with recreational cannabis use.

This compound works, in part, by mimicking the effects of anandamide and 2-AG. These neurotransmitters are produced naturally by the human body and help to regulate mood, sleeping habits, appetite, the perception of pain, and countless other bodily functions. THC is not present in PureSport CBD oil.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most critical cannabinoids contained in the cannabis plant. It exists both in agricultural hemp, as well as medical cannabis. While cannabinoids are present within several plants in nature, cannabis is the only plant known to contain CBD. CBD has the same chemical formula as THC, with the atoms in a different arrangement. This slight variance causes THC to create a psychoactive effect, while CBD does not. This non-psychoactive cannabinoid can be used to calm the body and mind by easing stress, emotional discomfort and aiding in pain management – with little or no noticeable effect on your cognitive abilities.

What is the difference between THC and CBD?

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD) are the two primary cannabinoids that occur naturally in the Cannabis sativa plant, most commonly referred to as cannabis. Both of these substances interact with the cannabinoid receptors found in the human body and brain, but they differ dramatically in their effects. CBD is non-psychoactive which means that it will not get the user high. THC is a psychoactive drug and does produce a high or sense of euphoria. CBD is now legalised and approved by WADA whereas THC, on the other hand, is illegal and will fail on a drug test.
